The Andaman Ashes 2012 Part 1-Oz

The end of March saw us fishing with anglers from Western Australia who wanted to catch GT’s and doggies, they had popped in Oz before, we also had our returning friends from the UK doing a return trip for GT’s that eluded them last time because of a freak storm in March, this turned out to be a healthy competition, all in good fun which we nicknamed the “Andaman Ashes 2012”.
It was all about numbers, species, sizes and personal bests and varied fishing to get the biggest one that would win…

There was great action popping and jigging and fish in great numbers, most got their personal best GT’s and doggies, as usual we lost some big fish that swam away to fight another day.

One morning we had absolutely no tidal movement even though we were on spring tides so we changed the plan decided to troll on the nearby shelf for a bit and surprise surprise the team from Oz won the ashes with a big blue Marlin estimated at 400lbs+
