Dutch Anglers Photo Essay Part - I

We had started out the season months ago with Michel and John. The trip went off pretty well and a week later we literally had a couple of thousand photographs to go through of the fantastic fishing. We had some big GT on popper and a couple of small Dog Tooth Tuna on popper as well. We also had a large number of species caught all on popper stick-bait and jig.

Michel with a fantastic looking grouper that swam up and grabbed a popper. A few pictures later we did what we do with all our popper caught grouper… we released it back to the reef. These fish are way too beautiful to remove.

A couple of rats for a change! We had to admire the way they came up and smashed a popper half their size. They’re back where they belong… getting bigger all the time.

A flurry of big fish action. Poppers getting smashed and line pouring off reels. We were fishing off reefs covered with nervous bait-schools and angry GT!

Another GT pulled from a big school of fusilier.

We headed back inshore to fish shallower reefs teeming with fish. This beautiful grouper was one of those fish that couldn’t resist a popper.

More action again on the surface. After a point we stopped counting fish and just went with the flow. The bite was on and we made the most of it while we had the energy.

Many double hookups and some great fish! It was a happy Christmas as well. The second part to follow soon.
